During pregnancy and postpartum, your breasts go through a lot of changes. They become more sensitive, fuller, and sometimes even painful or tense. That’s no surprise, your breast tissue is getting ready for something big: producing milk, feeding your baby, and everything that comes with it
And yet, we rarely talk about it. About the discomforts that may not be “medical,” but are still very real. About breasts that feel heavy, sore, or just not like your own.
That’s why we believe breast health deserves more attention.
What if your breasts need more than a good bra?
Tender, sore or achy breasts? You're not alone. Breast sensitivity is often one of the first signs of pregnancy, and it can stick around through late pregnancy, the early postpartum period, or while breastfeeding. Increased hormones and blood flow can cause your breasts to feel swollen, tight, or even bruised.
A soft, well-fitting maternity bra (like the Feelou® bra) already makes a big difference. But sometimes your body asks for a little extra. That’s where breast tissue therapy might help.
What is Breast Tissue Therapy (BTT)?
A gentle, body-oriented treatment that supports the breast tissue. This, in short, is what Breast Tissue Therapy (BTT) is all about. The method stimulates circulation and lymph flow in the breasts, and may help relieve:
-
Tension or pain in the breast tissue
-
Engorgement or hard spots
-
Discomfort around your cycle or during pregnancy
-
Preparation for breastfeeding
-
Recovery after surgery or radiation
BTT is designed as a complement to regular healthcare and is offered in the Netherlands by specially trained therapists. You can book a session for unexplained symptoms, to support healing, or simply as a form of self-care.
What can you expect from a BWB session?
The treatment is soft, respectful, and calming. Many women report feeling less tension, improved circulation, or simply more awareness of their body. Especially during pregnancy, when your breasts are changing rapidly, this type of support can bring relief and contribute to a more comfortable start to breastfeeding.
