What Real Experience with the Feelou Bra Looks Like: 411+ Women Share Theirs (2026)

feelou bra experiences

Last updated: August 2026. Article written by the Feelou team, the bra developed in collaboration with mothers and lactation consultants.

Searching for "Feelou bra experience" or "Feelou bra review"? You probably don't want marketing copy, you want an honest answer: does it really feel as comfortable as promised, does it actually grow with you, and where do women run into trouble? We dug into our own review data: 411 published, verified customer reviews of the Feelou bras (Regular and Big Cup) on feelou.co, collected between 2023 and now. Below is the honest picture, including the downsides.

Short answer: our published bra reviews average 4.80 out of 5 stars. But an average doesn't tell the whole story, so below we go question by question through what real customers actually say, criticism included.

The Feelou bra wasn't designed in isolation. It was developed in collaboration with mothers and lactation consultants, including Nina Cingel, a lactation consultant at Borstvoedingscentrum Amsterdam, who helped shape what a bra needs to do functionally while pregnant/breastfeeding.

"Does it really grow with you through the whole pregnancy?"

This is the most-asked question, and also the most consistently confirmed point in the reviews. Customers report adjusting up to 15 centimeters in band size without ever needing a new bra.

"My waist measurement grew by 15 cm during my pregnancy, and this bra just grows right along with it!" — Juul, verified buyer

"Back then I bought 5 new bras because they kept getting too small.. This is the first bra that actually grows with you, through the whole pregnancy!" — Debby d., verified buyer

This is exactly the problem Feelou solves: one bra from first trimester to final feed, no extenders needed

"Is it actually practical for nursing or pumping?"

A common question on forums, and for good reason: many nursing bras are awkward to open with one hand. Reviews confirm that sliding the cup aside without unclipping works in practice, exactly when you only have one hand free.

The cross-over design is built for this on purpose: you slide the cup aside instead of unclipping anything. In practice that means far less fuss with a hungry baby in your arms: no flap that won't cooperate, no clip that pops open unintentionally, and no panel you have to fold back and refasten afterward. The design also avoids that "milk cow" feeling, since the cup simply stays in place instead of hanging loose.

"During pregnancy they grow with you nicely and don't dig into your belly. While nursing they're easy to use, and during engorgement they give enough support." — Manon, verified buyer

"I've been breastfeeding for almost a year now and these are the only bras I wear." — Kiki, verified buyer

"Does it work for a larger cup size too?"

Yes, that's what the separate Big Cup line (E through G, based on the size your wore pre-pregnancy) is for. Reviews of this specific line are somewhat more critical about side support than the regular line, which we're including here honestly rather than leaving out.

"I've tried a lot of them, and this is the best one so far." — Saartje W., band size 80, verified buyer

"Through my work as a maternity care nurse I came across your brand, and ever since I recommend a Feelou to every pregnant client." — Henria de Babynurse

One thing worth being upfront about: the Big Cup doesn't fix your breasts in place the way an underwired bra does. It can't, because that's actually what makes the patented growing mechanism possible in the first place. What it does offer is support without an underwire, which reviewers with larger cup sizes describe as a different kind of support, not a lesser one.

"Nice bra, and one of the few that actually held my breasts (which grew a lot during pregnancy) properly. The fabric is soft on the skin but sturdy enough to give real support, even without an underwire." — Femke v., verified buyer

"What do people like less?"

No bra fits everyone perfectly. These are the three most recurring points of feedback in the review data:

The removable pads sometimes shift, in the wash or while nursing.

"Really nice maternity bra. Wonderfully soft and easy to adjust. As a nursing bra I find it slightly less great though. The removable padding sometimes folds over when you slide the cups aside to nurse." — Fanny W., verified buyer

To be honest, we actually agree. We've responded to this by making the padding larger in newer batches so it stays in place better. But we're currently also looking for a better alternative and are even considering developing our own padding. The padding options available on the market right now don't meet our quality bar, in terms of both usability and sustainability. Our advice: remove the pads once you start using the bra for nursing, especially if you're combining it with nursing pads.

The price is higher than a standard bra.

"Pretty expensive, and it's gone up in price quickly too." — Marieke, verified buyer

That's fair, per unit the Feelou bra costs more than a standard bra. But run the numbers: with a regular bra, you typically need 5 to 6 different bras across pregnancy in increasing sizes, plus 3-4 separate nursing and pumping bras afterward. With a bra that grows 2 to 3 cup sizes and more than 10 cm in the band, most women only need 2 to 3 bras for that entire period. Added up, that's often cheaper than buying separately, with less textile waste along the way. The reasoning behind the price point: production in Europe (a family-run atelier in Portugal), sustainable materials (TENCEL™ Modal), and the fact that one bra replaces several bras across different phases.

The fabric itself also comes up often in reviews as a reason people feel it's worth the investment:

"The Feelou bra feels wonderfully soft and comfortable. The fabric breathes well and feels luxurious. It adapts perfectly as your body changes." — Sophie T., verified buyer

That softness comes from the TENCEL™ Modal we use, a fiber we chose specifically to prevent skin irritation during a period when skin is already more sensitive.

The closure takes a bit of practice.

"The fabric is wonderfully soft. It takes a little getting used to how it fastens, but it's a nice system once you do." — Sanne S., verified buyer

This is the most common comment during the first week, and it disappears for nearly everyone after a few times wearing it.

For larger cup sizes: sometimes slightly less side support.

"Wonderfully soft fabric, grows with you thanks to the adjustable bands, feels comfortable and secure! My only small complaint is that the bra doesn't give quite enough support at the sides (side boob)." — Sophie B., verified buyer

Our response to this kind of feedback: crossing the straps at the back (racerback-style) noticeably improves side support.

"What size should I get?"

A recurring point of doubt. Most reviews confirm that your pre-pregnancy band size is the right starting point, with room to adjust as your body changes.

"Next time I'd consider ordering one band size up from what I normally wear. I wasn't able to use the tightest settings this time around." — Kirsten v., verified buyer

Frequently asked questions about experiences with the Feelou bra

Yes. The bra grows 2 to 3 cup sizes and more than 10 cm in the band, with no extenders needed. Reviews confirm this even for significant body changes.

Yes, through the Big Cup line, for cup sizes E through G. For extra side support, reviewers recommend wearing the straps crossed at the back.

Yes, you simply slide the cup aside without unclipping anything.

Feelou holds itself to strict standards on production, transparency, and material choice, think a family-run atelier in Portugal instead of mass production, and TENCEL™ Modal instead of cheaper synthetic fabrics. Those choices simply cost more than the industry standard. On top of that, one bra replaces the function of several bras across different phases, so when you calculate it over the full period, the investment often works out lower than expected.
